Warning, first of post a lil' descriptive.

SOME OF THE MOST AMAZING PEOPLE I KNOW filled my day yesterday.
Starting off with the BYU Cadaver lab. Rachel Tomco, a friend of mine, runs the BYU lab and invited me to come yesterday to view some pretty incredible things. I feel like yesterday morning may have been one of the most interesting special days of my life. I was able to view three FULL cadavers head to toe and even though I've seen the body in that way in segments it was a LOT more powerful in a full body cadaver. The psoas muscle was incredible (I think only a massage therapist would understand why haha, we are a lil' obsessed). One man we saw passed away two months ago of mouth cancer and we were able to see the plates and screws in the jaw. Another woman died of heart failure but when they did the disection they found tumors EVERYWHERE. seriously she had them in all tissues of her body, it made me feel happy for her that she was out of pain and moved on from this life. We saw parts of the body I have seen before but never stop being fascinated with (reproductive, a placenta, uterus, brain w/ spinal cord attached, brain with eyes attached) I even Held a few disected Eyes.
ARE YOU GROSSED OUT YET??? I know it sounds awful to some but to me I find this more incredible than anything, it truely gets down to the root of what a miracle the body is and just how real God is in our lives. I find anatomy FASCINATING!! Then to the craziest mind blowing thing ever: I held in my hands, cadavers of SIAMESE TWINS that were probably about 25ish weeks old...they had all their own parts excepts shared a liver and an arm. (had they been born today they probably would have survived for sure, unfort. they were born 30 yrs ago), I held a fetus that was about 25 weeks old as well that had Spina Bifida and was born w/o a brain. I couldn't even hold these lil' babies without tears of sadness for them (and the medical abilities back then) but also tears of joy to be able to hold first hand these miracle of gods creation.

Needless to say I was grateful for that opportunity.
The rest of my day consisted of going to Deer Creek Lake (I'd never gone and PS I LOVED IT) w/ Taylor and a lot of clasAdd Imagesmates. Then to class for a BBQ and then to our FINAL CLASS SESSION. It was EXTREMELY emotional but wonderful. This past year I have made some life long friends and been with some of the most wonderful people ever. I'm grateful I was put in the class I was, I'm glad school is over but I will TRULY miss spending so much time with these great people.
PICTURES COMING IN NEXT POST!
