So..some of you have older kids and this winter have been cooped up. here are some WAY cute ideas of fun things to do in the house. (From American Baby Magazine)
I can't wait to do some of these w/ Tay.
1. Marshmallow tinkertoys- take jumbo marshmallows and pretzel sticks and build different things w/ them. You can make a barn and put toy animals inside.
2. Family Photo Bingo- Improve childs memory and have fun learning everyone in the family. Arrange into rows of three, then give your child nine checker pieces to serve as bingo chips. When a persons name is called the child covers up that photo. Whoever gets 3 in a row wins.
3. Disco Down- dim the lights, close the blinds, give each child a flashlight and a small scarf to twirl around. Cue up the disco tunes and dance away.
4. Barbie beach party- Get your collection of barbies and beach towels (wash clothes) sunscreen (baby lotion) and a yacht or two (Tupperware) it says in the mag that most barbies dig the diving board (faucet) Give your child a fruity tropical beverage poolside "iced juice in a sippy cup)
5. Mini car wash- Gather up all your toy cars and do a "at home detail job" Put them in the tub and clean them with spray bottles or empty shower gel squeeze bottles. You can take washclothes and roll between your hands for a monster wiper.
6. Bowl-a-rama- create a bowling alley in the living room with empty water bottles (or fill w/ a lil water or noodles for extra weight) and a simple rubber ball for the bowling ball
7.Family-room Picnic- pack up a lunch and do all the picnic fun in the living room
8. Masking tape wonders- Make a hopscoth on the floor, Have your child use the tape to design their favorite t-shirt
Just a few fun things from that great magazine. ENJOY
